The Fontaine collection by Vetmari for P&B Textiles is shipping now and I've just released a line of sewing and embroidery patterns to complement the fabric line. My new collection of sewing and embroidery patterns embodies the feminine, vintage modern feel of the fabric collection. You can order these patterns in my shop, ask your local fabric or needlework work to carry the full collection, or contact me for wholesale inquiries.
Shibumi home held a contest to select their inaugural team of designers for their new home decor brand. I was drawn to the brand because of it's modern look and on-trend color schemes. I knew it would be a good fit with my own design aesthetic. However I wasn't sure I was going to be able to find the time to create a new collection to enter because my husband was having surgery out of town the week of the deadline. Luckily I was able to pull together a collection that was modern, feminine and eclectic because I ended up being chosen! I am very excited to get started and can't wait for the official launch later this year! My winning pattern design collection is below.
The other talented designers selected as part of the Shibumi Design Team:
Dianne Rob Annelli
Lidija Paradinovic (Grand Prize Winner!)
Frankie Andrea Van Mourik
Myself and the other designers will be highlighted on the Shibumi Home Facebook Page in the coming days, so be sure to head over there and like their page. Shibumi Home is also offering 20% off your first order to the first 250 fans here.
Shibumi Home is a revolutionary shopping experience for women who love to decorate. Their mission is to empower home decorators to confidently create unique, "eclectically coordinated" design statements that express their personal style and creativity!
My fabric collection Fontaine is now available for pre-order from P&B Textiles. I designed this beautiful quilt pattern "Blushing Blooms" for P&B Textiles to feature my new fabric collection. The quilt pattern is free to download from their website here or you can view it on the Vetmari site here.
You can also view this quilt at P&B Textiles booth at Fall Quilt Market in Houston later this month. Stop by booths #1356 & 1361 to see Fontaine and Blushing Blooms in person and pick up your free copy of the printed pattern.
This fabric collection was designed with a romantic Art Deco influence that I also reflected in the quilt design. Fabric will be available starting in January, so put this gorgeous quilt on your to do list! If you do make it, please send me a pic or tag @vetmari in instagram with the hashtag #fontaine. Happy quilting!
I am so excited to announce that my fabric collection through P&B Textiles is finally here! Fontaine is feminine, modern and romantic collection inspired by vintage Art Deco motifs. It is available in 2 color ways and also has a beautiful cheater quilt cloth as part of the collection. You can pre-order now through P&B Textiles and the fabric will ship in January 2015!
Fontaine will also be featured at the P&B Textiles booth at Fall Quilt Market, so be sure to stop by and check it out at booth #1356 & 1361.
Vetmari's newest collection "Flit and Fly" is filled with birds, butterflies, orchids, paisleys and flowers in a feminine and flirtatious celebration of Summer. This past month I participated in both Lilla Roger's Global Talent Search and Rachel Taylor's Make it in Design Summer School. This collection was inspired and created from artwork and patterns I designed for those creative briefs provided.
I think this collection would look stunning in a little girl's room as bedding, drapes, pillows, wall art and more! If you're interested in licensing any of these patterns, please contact me.

I just finished uploading my final pattern for the Make it in Design Summer School creative brief. This week's theme was intricate chaos and I had a lot of fun with it adding in all the little details. I love the little bird with his paisley wing! This will be the main pattern design for my next collection, so look for it in September's look book. I have mocked it up on the rug in the nursery above, along with some of the other prints and patterns that will be in the collection.
In addition to entering Lilla Roger's Global Talent Search Contest, I also signed up to take the Make it in Design Summer School program. I have to say that it has done what I hoped it would do, and that is stretch me outside my comfort zone! I had never previously explored anything nautical or tribal, but it was really fun to play around with these and see what I could come up with.
For the first design brief I did a cute little crab holding a bouquet of kelp on a fish scale pattern background. I love how this one turned out and I feel like I did a good job of staying true with my design aesthetic.
The second brief was a tribal collage of geometrics, animal prints, etc. Unfortunately this one coincided with the GTS Contest, so I couldn't spend a lot of time on it. I had a bunch of leftover brush strokes from my terrarium sketches for the contest, so I re-purposed those into a tribal collage pattern. I don't feel like this pattern fits into my Vetmari brand, however I like the playfulness and organic nature of it.
I've really enjoyed stretching myself this summer and participating in a community of talented artists! To view all the Summer School galleries click here.
Some projects just come together quickly and beautifully as if they design themselves. This one was not one of them! I struggled for several days to solidify what I wanted to do, did lots of sketches and ditched several designs before it finally started coming together. I think part of the struggle with this project was a mental one and trying not to think about the stiff competition out there. However I just kept reminding myself to not worry about it, be true to my artistic voice and have fun with it. As I've been watching the sneak peeks and final reveals on social media the past few days I have been in awe of the wonderful talent that surrounds me in this contest. I want to congratulate all my fellow artists on making the decision to put themselves out there and for inspiring me along the way.
We were all given a creative brief to design to, and I was very excited when I received it because it was such a fun theme! We were asked to design a piece of wall art with a terrarium theme and containing at least one word. I chose the saying "Beauty is Within" for my piece because I loved the double meaning of the beauty within the glass and looking beyond the surface for the beauty in others. I traditionally do my designs mostly digitally, but I wanted to bring in some painted textures and a few small painted elements to appeal more to the wall art market and give it some added depth. I'm very happy with how it turned out in the end because it truly reflects me and my aesthetic. The top 50 entries moving on to round 2 will be posted August 26th. Best of luck to everyone!
I designed the theme quilt (left) for the Quilt St. George 2015 Annual Retreat titled "Creating Tomorrow's Heirlooms." I will also be teaching two quilts I designed! You can sign up to take "Block Parade" or "Bonkers for Blocks" from me. Both have a modern design and are great beginner quilts with easy piecing that go together fast. The details are below and I hope to see you there!

Enjoy the romance and elegance of the art nouveau era in my newest collection titled "Daisy's Parlour." It is inspired from the floral motifs of that era with my own modern twist. I've colored it in both a vintage palette found in art nouveau era posters as well as a bright, modern palette to give it a more updated look.
Please take a look through my August look book and feel free to contact me if you are interested in licensing any of my patterns.
