Vetmari quilting and surface pattern designs are now available on Quilt Dots! Quilt Dots are magnet sets that can also be used on their interchangeable jewelry and fobs.
To celebrate the release of these sets, Quilt Dots and I are giving away a set of the Baltimore Woods Quilt Dots AND a rotary cutter fob!!
To enter simply follow @vetmari on Instagram and tag a friend who would love these magnet sets.
My mom and I decided to team up for a block of the month quilt that would be a showstopper and we are thrilled to introduce Baltimore Woods! We wanted to take the feeling of a traditional baltimore album quilt and infuse it with some fun and modern elements, and what's more fun than a purple skunk in a bowtie?!
This pattern includes instructions for applique and 11 months of patterns and is now available for retail or wholesale orders on my site or on PinkHippoQuilts.com. For wholesale orders please contact me for pricing and quantities or order your retail copy now.
This quilt is currently on display at Spring Quilt Market in Salt Lake City, Utah, at Pink Hippo's Booth #2046 if you want to see it in person.
I've just released two new quilt patterns in my online shop!
The first is "Resonate" which is a modern appliqué quilt that mimics sound waves echoing off into the distance. This is a great quilt to play with color or use scraps from your stash! The cover quilt is shown with the fabric Jewels by Lizzie House from Andover Fabrics.
The second is a crib size quilt called "Zoo Baby" that uses a clamshell motif and flying geese. Great design for highlighting some of your favorite fabrics! The cover quilt uses the #babychic fabric line by Firetrail Designs from Andover Fabrics.
Please contact me for wholesale pricing if you are a quilting or fabric shop who is interested in carrying my line of quilting, sewing or embroidery patterns.
I was interviewed by the Make it in Design team about my designs, process and how my design business has grown and evolved. You can read the full interview here, but here is an excerpt:
"Can you describe the evolution of your business?
I first found my passion for design at the young age of 13 and have never looked back! I’ve been a graphic designer for the past 20 years, working both in design firms and as a freelancer. A few years ago I started helping my mom, Marian Gallian of Pink Hippo Quilts, design quilts for fabric manufacturers to show at Quilt Market. Through this I was introduced to the world of art licensing and surface pattern design. I decided to delve into this world and started my brand Vetmari (pronounced Vet•Marie). I began with a focus on creating fabric collections and brought my portfolio to show to manufacturers at the International Quilt Market. I was lucky enough to land a deal to create my first fabric collection with P&B Textiles and have since also become a licensed designer with Shibumi Home and I’m co-authoring my first book with C&T Publishing."
I just released these two new patterns, now available in my shop:
Bonkers for Blocks Quilt Pattern
Fun, modern and versatile, this colorful quilt whips up in a snap! Perfect for the beginner quilter or a quick project for the more advanced quilter. Instructions included for 3 different sizes!
Pretty in Paris Pillow Patterns
These pillows are beautiful, ornate and sophisticated, just like the city they are inspired from. Add some French flair to your room with this pretty pair of pillows. Includes instructions for a 20 inch ruffle pillow and 16 inch bow pillow.
The Fontaine collection by Vetmari for P&B Textiles is shipping now and I've just released a line of sewing and embroidery patterns to complement the fabric line. My new collection of sewing and embroidery patterns embodies the feminine, vintage modern feel of the fabric collection. You can order these patterns in my shop, ask your local fabric or needlework work to carry the full collection, or contact me for wholesale inquiries.
Shibumi home held a contest to select their inaugural team of designers for their new home decor brand. I was drawn to the brand because of it's modern look and on-trend color schemes. I knew it would be a good fit with my own design aesthetic. However I wasn't sure I was going to be able to find the time to create a new collection to enter because my husband was having surgery out of town the week of the deadline. Luckily I was able to pull together a collection that was modern, feminine and eclectic because I ended up being chosen! I am very excited to get started and can't wait for the official launch later this year! My winning pattern design collection is below.
The other talented designers selected as part of the Shibumi Design Team:
Dianne Rob Annelli
Lidija Paradinovic (Grand Prize Winner!)
Frankie Andrea Van Mourik
Myself and the other designers will be highlighted on the Shibumi Home Facebook Page in the coming days, so be sure to head over there and like their page. Shibumi Home is also offering 20% off your first order to the first 250 fans here.
Shibumi Home is a revolutionary shopping experience for women who love to decorate. Their mission is to empower home decorators to confidently create unique, "eclectically coordinated" design statements that express their personal style and creativity!
I am so excited to announce that my fabric collection through P&B Textiles is finally here! Fontaine is feminine, modern and romantic collection inspired by vintage Art Deco motifs. It is available in 2 color ways and also has a beautiful cheater quilt cloth as part of the collection. You can pre-order now through P&B Textiles and the fabric will ship in January 2015!
Fontaine will also be featured at the P&B Textiles booth at Fall Quilt Market, so be sure to stop by and check it out at booth #1356 & 1361.
I designed the theme quilt (left) for the Quilt St. George 2015 Annual Retreat titled "Creating Tomorrow's Heirlooms." I will also be teaching two quilts I designed! You can sign up to take "Block Parade" or "Bonkers for Blocks" from me. Both have a modern design and are great beginner quilts with easy piecing that go together fast. The details are below and I hope to see you there!
